Paid-On-Call Firefighters

Paid-On-Call (POC) firefighters are essential members of the Bemidji Fire Department and play a critical role in keeping our community safe. These individuals respond to emergencies when called upon—day or night—bringing their training, dedication, and teamwork to every scene. Paid-On-Call firefighters serve on a flexible, part-time basis, making it a rewarding opportunity for those who want to serve their community while maintaining other careers or commitments. Whether running into a burning building or educating kids about fire safety, POC firefighters are everyday heroes making a real difference in Bemidji.

The Bemidji Pioneer Firefighters Relief Association is a nonprofit organization entrusted with the management and dispersal of POC Firefighter's retirement pension. Bemidji Pioneer Firefighters Relief Association is overseen by a board comprised of members of the Firefighter's Relief Association, the Bemidji Fire Chief and City Employees.
